A UK Work Permit allows an employee to work for an employer, once the employer has obtained a work permit for them. The work permit application includes the details of the job the employee will be granted permission to perform.
Once entry clearance is approved at a British Embassy or a further leave to remain application is approved by the UK Border Agency, the visa is then endorsed in the employee's passport.
The employer then has permission to employ a specific person.
If the employee is currently in the UK on a work permit, he or she is allowed to change from one employer to another, however this is only allowed once the new employer has arranged a new work permit. This will usually take about ten days from the day Mulberry Finch completes your application.
A variation of leave should be requested, in the form of a new further leave to remain application, in parallel with the work permit application. This will allow the employee to take up work with the new employer as soon as possible.
