Tier 5 Temporary Worker visas

The Tier 5 Temporary Worker visa is the route for migrants who are nationals of a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to enter the UK to do temporary work for an employer in the UK.

The team of experienced immigration solicitors will assess your individual circumstances and advise and guide you on your application under Tier 5 to gain entry to the UK.

There are 5 subcategories under which you can apply for a Tier 5 Temporary Worker visa:

  1. Creative and Sporting: Applies to applicants entering the UK for up to 12 months as sportspeople, entertainers or creative artists.
  2. Charity Workers: Applies to applicants entering the UK who will be doing voluntary work for a charity in the UK. The work must be directly related to the sponsor organisation’s work.
  3. Religious Workers: Applies to applicants entering the UK for preaching, pastoral work or work in a religious order.
  4. Government Authorised Exchange: Applies to applicants entering the UK through approved schemes which aim to share knowledge, experience and best practice, and to experience the social and cultural life of the UK.
  5. International Agreement: Applies to applicants entering the UK to do work that is covered under international law, such as workers under the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) [link to page on website], employees of overseas governments/international organisations and private servants in diplomatic households.

Requirements

To be eligible to apply for a Tier 5 Temporary Worker visa under any of the above subcategories, you must have:

  • A job offer from a Tier 5 licensed sponsor (a valid certificate of sponsorship); and
  • Passed a points based assessment.

There are then further requirements that must be met to become eligible to make an application. What these requirements are will depend upon the subcategory that you are applying under. Our expert immigration solicitors will advise you on whether you have met / how to meet these requirements to make your application.
