The Tier 1 General visa maintenance requirement dictates that a candidate migrating to the UK must be able to show they have adequate savings in case they need to support themselves in the UK for a short period without employment. You will need to show that you can support yourself, and any dependants that will live in the UK with you.

The total amount of funds that need to be evidenced as being at the disposal of the applicant to satisfy this requirement is £2,800 for Tier 1 General applications that are submitted to an Embassy, and £800 for Tier 1 General applications that are submitted to the UK Border Agency.
