HSMP visas will no longer be available and therefore all HSMP visa holders seeking to extend their visa should do so as a Tier 1 Migrant. Applicants will be expected to meet the requirements for a Tier 1 visa, with successful applications resulting in a three year visa. The time spent on your HSMP visa will count towards your future eligibility for settlement in the United Kingdom.
If you are already on HSMP, then to extend your visa, you will need to also need to apply under the new points-based system. The exception is if you qualify for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) before your existing HSMP visa expires.
We are here to take the trouble out of Tier 1 applications. Our aim is to ensure you obtain your visa without delay. Age, qualifications and English language criteria, along with the earnings criteria and savings requirement are explained, showing how points are awarded.
There will be a minority of applicants who were awarded a HSMP visa before November 2006 and do not qualify under the new Tier 1 (General) Migrant criteria. However, the recent Court Judgment of HSMP Forum Ltd v SSHD confirms that applications will be considered by the UK Border Agency even where the Applicant does not meet the criteria. Our experienced lawyers are well versed in dealing with such applications and enquires are encouraged from those individuals affected.
