Tier 1 (General) Migrants are entitled to include their dependants in their application if applying from within the UK. There is no additional charge for doing so provided the applications are being submitted at the same time. To make a successful application Applicants would be required to demonstrate the relationship with the main applicant. The Applicant would also have to show that they are able to financially support their dependants here in the United Kingdom.
Tier 1 (General) Migrants applying from outside the United Kingdom are also able to apply for visas for their dependants. There is a separate visa fee for dependants and they are required to submit their own application form.
All dependants whether applying from within the United Kingdom or not will be granted a visa for the same time period as the main applicant, which in the first instance, will be for three years.
Employment for your spouse & dependants
Under Tier 1 General, the visa holder's family (spouse/partner and children) can enjoy the same benefits as UK nationals. This means that your family will have access to a free education, free healthcare and permission to work in the UK as they choose. There are no limits or restrictions on their employment either.
