A Skilled - Independent visa is issued to engineering graduates of overseas colleges and universities who have skills that are required in Australia. The visa is an 18 month temporary visa. You will able to work in Australia, and study in Australia without any restrictions if you are successful in your application for a Recognised Graduate (subclass 476) visa. You may also qualify for a General Skilled Migrant visa or an Employer Sponsored visa further down the track.
Unlike many other Australian managed migration paths, the subclass 476 visa does not require satisfying a points based system.
