From early January the Immigration Rules  will be somewhat relaxed to allow for religious workers and religious workers in non-pastoral roles who visit the UK.

Certain ministers of religion and for example,  Kirtani performers can enter the UK under the revised category to live in the UK without a work permit. Formerly, Kirtani performers were required to have work permits issued under the “Entertainers” category which did not fully address the religious role played by these people. This new rules allows for a more accurate recognition of Kirtani performers under a broad religious duties category.

Other categories to be captured will include those people who participate in religious rites where scriptures are read  aloud or tending to deities, for example.
