The Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) includes a provision for MBA graduates to achieve the full points required for HSMP approval soley based on their MBA qualification.

The HSMP MBA Provision allows graduates from the most successful business schools around the world to qualify without have to meet any earnings points, once they have been awarded their MBA.

You may qualify for the MBA Provision, and therefore be able to apply for the full number of HSMP points required soley based on your MBA, even if you do not have experience in your chosen profession.

You can only submit an application claiming MBA provision points once you have completed your studies. You can apply for the MBA provision before you have received your graduation certificate, as long as you are able to provide evidence that you have in fact completed the course successfully.

You cannot apply for the MBA provision if you graduated prior to 2 December 2004. This is when the set of top 50 business schools used by the UK Border Agency was first determined. However, you may qualify for HSMP based on your age points and earnings points.

If you have graduated from an MBA programme but the institution is not on the list of eligible schools at the time of graduation you will not be entitled to apply under the MBA provision. However, you may qualify under the regular HSMP.

The MBA Provision is only applicable to individuals who already have an MBA. Applicants who have completed another qualification at an eligible school are not entitled to apply for the MBA provision, however, you may qualify under the regular HSMP.
