The full list of British Overseas Territories keep their connection to the United Kingdom, even though the territories take significant responsibility for their own governance and affairs. Although the territories are not part of the UK, they are under the sovereignty of the UK.

The qualifying territories do not include the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia.
