Andy Coulson lost his case in the High Court last week to have his contract interpreted to mean that his former employer Newsgroup, which owns the New of the World, should pay his legal fees in the impending criminal proceedings about the allegations that he was involved in phone-hacking whilst editor of the paper.

It will be the foremost court in the world for resolving commercial disputes.

Expanding the intellectual property sector like this would be a significant boost to UK business, and generate huge amounts of revenue for the legal profession and the economy.
