Plans were recently in Canada has announced that it will take up to 300,000 new permanent residents this year.
Additionally, processes will be put in place to speed up turn-around times for applications for potential new migrants.
While other countries, such as the UK, cut back on immigration (some say a foolhardy and short term view resulting in more long term damage to the economy) Canada has just further re-prioritised more than 35 shortage areas in health, finance and the oil industry.
Canada still has labour shortages, despite the economic issues affecting it, and other cfountries around the world.
