Brits give Vics the flick

Migrants to Australia’s sunny shores find themselves disappointed with Melbourne and thereby move to other cities, official records show. Between the years 2004 and 2005 nearly 3000 British people moved and settled in Victoria. Compared against those people from Britain moving to New South Wales (nearly 4000). Most Brits moved to WA (numbers reaching 5000 in the same year).

Migration experts in Australia agree that the British generally have highly attractive skills which were readily transferable, thus allowing them first choice in deciding where to go. Moreover, their proficiency in the English language is another obvious reason why so many Brits can afford to be choosy about where they settle.
